I graduated moons ago from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College with a degree in Bible and Elementary Education when computers were a luxury of the rich and used a 5.25” floppy. I have had the privilege of being married to a pastor whose passion for the Lord has been an inspiration. He is in the midst of writing a book after having been in ministry in several churches in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Wisconsin. I simply love to walk our golden retriever and garden, and when I have time – I love to stamp homemade cards.
I have taught for over 20 years, first teaching a few years at the 4th-grade level and moving up to teaching eight years of math, science, and reading at the middle school level at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Sheboygan. When it closed, I moved up to the high school level in the area of academic skills teacher, as well as being a “jack of all trades” educator teaching pre-algebra, algebra, accounting, marriage and family, and English. The Lord called me into part-time administration when our school went through a time of transition. In my last year of teaching, I led a Christian high school of over 100 students as a full-time principal. Since that time, I completed a Master’s of Education in Teaching and Learning through Liberty University and will be completing my Wisconsin certification in special education for K-12 next year.
Working in education for the past 20 years has taught me that every day is a day to learn something new and an opportunity to see God at work in the lives of students and people around me. When I consider how the ideas of faith and education come together, I am always reminded of how constantly the Bible speaks of everything being in God’s sovereign control and that I am willing to be used for His purpose.
